Chenier
Chenier is French for Oak. In Louisiana this term refers to narrow ridges that are of a slightly higher elevation than the ocean to the south and the marsh to the north. This slight rise in elevation allows for the growth of Oaks,
Hackberries, and other trees. For a statement about the work click here.
