Night Photography Excursion II

I got my electronic cable release the other day and have been anxious to try it out. So, last night I set out to make some photographs. The first stop was the Teton View (our local drive-in movie theater). I only had three dollars in my wallet and movie tickets are five dollars. I convinced the kids in the ticket booth to let me in for three bucks since I only planned to be there for a little while. It was pretty neat. I hope to get back a few more times this summer to photograph.

After photographing the movie I got ahold of Jon and we went out on the farm fields SE of Rexburg and photographed until 1:00 am.

The dirt and straw potato cellar looks like something from a scary movie the way the light is hitting it.

I love the stars in those night photos. With the long exposures they look awesome. I guess that means the world really does rotate.

Hey Daddy-O,
I really enjoyed your Dive-Inn pic.
This happens to be a project that I'm working on right now, that is photographing old drive-inns; I'll post my version of the Rexburg drive-inn tomorrow. William Greiner posted a pic. of his of a phone on the side of this gas station a few days ago and the color was spectacular.

I also like the stars! Carson is having a hard time comprehending why the stars "moved"

are you sure you have proper copyright permission to be photographing movies and posting them on the internet? Just kidding. That's cool, I had wondered what a photograph like that would look like. Lately I've really considered getting a digital camera...But there's no way I could afford one right now. Unless I robbed a bank.

you need to lengthen the exposures & really get the star trails working for you! nice images just the same.

Sam said he'd like to see a picture of the north star with an extended exposure. He said all the stars will rotate around the north star and it might look like a black hole.
