About Me
I teach photography at a private University in Rexburg, Idaho. I am married and have three sons. My time is divided between teaching, fly-fishing, photographing, birding, and hanging out.

Do you know for sure it's a "gal"? Love the shadow.
Hey Susan that's what I was going to say? The shadows are awesome!
From http://www.projects.ex.ac.uk/bugclub/mantids.html "Sexing mantids is difficult when they are small but fairly easy when adult, eight segments can be counted on the underside of the abdomen of a male and six on that of the female (in some species the end segments are difficult to see and only seven or five may be counted)."
I count six segments, so I guess it is a female.
Wow, bug geek too? Nice.
I love the light and shadow. I want to steal that shot for a slideshow to show students about recognizing good light..
I'm impressed--so is the Security Department. Several of the guys were in my office while I was looking at this photo!
