Monkey Falls

Near Newdale, Idaho is an irrigation ditch that flows into the Teton River. It cascades down some lava rock and has been here so long it now looks like a natural waterfall. Anyway, it's a cool little spot. Kids like to swim and jump off the falls in the summer. I've photographed it a few times. Jon and I visited it on Saturday, after photographing a few other places nearby. Here's an old and a new photograph.

Ahh..Monkey Falls, or Monkey Rock as call it. I've got a lot of memories of that place, like when my band in high school almost broke up due to an incident there involving swimming and shooting bottle rockets at each other. Fun times.

I really enjoy your blog Darren. It transports me back to Idaho each time I read it.

Hope all is well. I'm doing alright in L.A., I actually take photos of womens' shoes for a living. ( www.chineselaundry.com )Yeah, it's kinda wierd. Just got tickets to see Jeff Tweedy on his solo tour, should be great.

Keep up the blogs, talk to you later.

I wonder if Tweedy is coming to Rexburg? Are you guys still making music? It's good to hear from you.
